Wait, why do my blogs always start like this?

Anyway, I returned home from food shopping, two meetings and college, to sit at my computer for a couple of hours. A couple of hours later. Dinner was ready, I had been eagerly anticipating this, it was a vegetarian lasagna and it smelled gorgeous. Halfway through my first serving, I noticed an odd feeling in my stomach. No point in wasting food, so I continued to eat. I had barely taken any of the second serving when the strange feeling got worse. Too bad to bare in fact. I have not had anything else to eat as of yet. I still feel extremely odd. I am now rather worried, my Sister and Mum both currently have the Oink-barf. This is not a good sign. I've never had any type of flu before.

On techno-failures and life IRL:

Soooo...

Due to the epic fail built in to all technology by international law, I have been loosing the use of my most important technological 'necessities'. As you might expect, I have not been getting down to nature or realising that I don't need any of these contraptions to lead a happy and full life. Instead of this; I have been infuriated by call centers, anxious of my hardware's future and I have sincerely missed the Internet. No, seriously. I got homesick when I was trapped IRL.

It all started with broadband, well, not really, but that is the most annoying one I can remember in the recent past. Anyway, at first the broadband was okay, sure we lost connection once or twice a month, but big deal. This was not the end, soon, we were loosing connection every day, calling up AOL was always a last resort but we usually found out the cause of the problem after a few hours of shouting at the phone.

Now, we have had three different wireless routers, by the third we had given up on wireless and started using Ethernet cables, they had started as a temporary measure, but now they are permanent. Like snakes at our feet, blocking hallways, creeping up stairs and a constant reminder of the futility of technology.

Soon before the Ethernet cables came into play, I got a netbook, the first laptop-like computer I have owned. Soon after I got it, less then a week probably, the screen broke. It was easy enough to cope with at first, but like the broadband it got worse and worse until I could take it no more. When I tried to get it fixed, I found that to repair it would cost more than the unit itself.

More recently, my new desktop computer died too. I was watching the Hogfather DVD and there was a power surge. Now it refuses to turn on, I have no idea what happened, but it simply won't work. It isn't the power cable or supply. There is nothing I can do. I am going to send it back to the manufacturers to get it fixed on the warranty. I am going to loose the DVD; I cannot get it out of the drive.

Now I am floating between islands of Internet, and during a long gap without connectivity I found the extreme loneliness that comes with not having the Internet beside you. It was a living hell. I simply hope that heaven has an Internet connection. Perhaps I am addicted, or maybe I am homesick.

So, I wrote a definition for the Guide To Nerdfighting today. It was fun and not hard at all, I could have written about five times more but I came up to the limit and had to cut it short. The Guide needs your submissions guys! I've already designed the cover of the book, a logo, a banner and a less-than-three heart as an illustration.
